Player: Zach Green
Height: 6’ 5”
Major: Business Management with a minor in entrepreneurship
Hometown: Gilbert, Ariz.
Caleb Rux: Who or what first got you interested in basketball?
Zach Green: I would have to say my mom. She was a really big Michael Jordan fan, and growing up she was always watching basketball games and I was always there with her. So that’s how she introduced me to the game, really.
CR: What does being a bobcat mean to you?
ZG: It means a lot to me. I take pride in my school and I’m glad [MSU] gave me the opportunity to come play here. It’s a great university, [I’ve received a] good education from it and a good fan base, too.
CR: Do you have a pre-game routine?
ZG: I’ve got a pretty good routine. After we are done going through our walkthroughs, I’ll eat my pre-game meal and take a nap for like an hour. Then I’ll come and get a small workout before the game.
CR: Do you know the last song you listened to?
ZG: I just listened to [Paramedic!] by Kendrick Lamar and the SOB Gang from the new Black Panther Album.
CR: Is there a guy on the team you wouldn’t want to date your sister?
ZG: My whole team.
CR: Your whole team, nobody?
ZG: No one. [laughter]
CR: Is there anyone worse than anybody else? Is there a guy you would pick out?
ZG: [laughing] I’ll say Devonte [Klines].
CR: Is there any guy on the team you would let date your sister?
ZG: Harry [Frey]
CR: Do you have a favorite all-time basketball player?
ZG: All time? This is tough. I got a couple. James Harden is my favorite player.
CR: What do you like about him?
ZG: I mean, I just like how he came from the [Oklahoma] Thunder. I like how he knew his worth. When the Thunder didn’t want to give him a max contract he went to Houston and then he came out and did his thing. He’s a great shooter, I like the way he plays, he’s fun to watch.
CR: What’s your favorite activity outside of basketball?
ZG: Uhm, I like ping-pong a lot. And I like playing video games like “Call of Duty.”
CR: Do you play “Fortnite?”
ZG: A little bit. I’m not good at it. I’m just really big into “Call of Duty.”
CR: If they were to make a movie about your life, what would it be called and who would you want to play the lead role?
ZG: I gotta play the lead role myself, and it will be called “Agent Zero.”
CR: Is that your nickname?
ZG: It’s my Snapchat name.
CR: Did you know that we have a student newspaper on campus?
ZG: I don’t remember anybody telling me, but I kind of assumed we did. I’ve never really actually looked at it.
CR: Do you have a secret talent?
ZG: I can juggle.
CR: After this year what are your plans?
ZG: I’m just going to graduate and weigh my options between overseas basketball, which is what I want to do, and business.
CR: Is there anywhere overseas you have your eye on?
ZG: Not really. Whatever the best fit would be, and I would have to look at contracts and stuff.
CR: Any country you would like to be in if you had to pick?
ZG: If I could pick anywhere it would be Spain or China.
CR: Would you play with the controversial Ball brothers?
ZG: I actually wouldn’t want to. [laughter] I mean it would be cool, you would get a lot of publicity.
CR: Maybe go show them up?
ZG: Yeah I’m not sure that would happen with their dad being the coach.
