Hit the dance floor at Snobar

January is not all about the craziness of going back to school. Although the holiday lights are gone and the once-festive snow is now slush, it may seem like there is nothing left to look forward to. So, you turn to the nightlife around town. Bozeman has good breweries and late-night hangouts, but just under an hour’s drive away is a massive dance party happening in Big Sky. This year, Moonlight Productions and Big Sky Resort are hosting Snobar 2018, the go-to live music and dance event for ski bums and nature junkies taking place in the great outdoors.

Every January, the event crew assembles a music venue and bar made entirely of snow — hence the name Snobar. There are two weekends when this party happens. The first was Jan. 13, and the encore show will be on Jan. 20, with an after-party following the performances at Montana Jack, a dining venue right on the resort. This is a 21+ event and will feature local DJs, starting with Chrome at 6 p.m. and ending with Lox Chatterbox at 10 p.m. You can expect a lot of electronic music, as well as a laid-back feel as you come back from a day of skiing at Big Sky. Enjoy dancing in your ski gear for $15.

Flashing lights, glow sticks and a dance party on the mountains — there is still time to hit the dance slope this Sat. at 6 p.m. The second round of Snobar 2018 goes down near Mountain Village this weekend.
