Bobcats lose to WSU, win exciting home-opener against Louisiana

The MSU Men’s Basketball team competed on Friday, Nov. 11 and  Monday, Nov. 14. In their season opener, the team took on the Washington State University Cougars from the PAC-12 Conference in Pullman, Washington on Friday. The team stayed with WSU throughout the game, but the Cats fell 69-65 against the Cougars.

Sophomore Tyler Hall, who was named Preseason Big Sky All-Conference team in mid October, led the team in scoring with 32 points. Hall made seven of 15 from behind the three-point line. Senior Sarp Gobeloglu scored 15 points in the game. After the tough loss, the Bobcats had a weekend to prepare for their home-opener against University of Louisiana Lafayette.

In an exciting game, junior Joe Mvuezolo, Jr. made two free throws with two seconds remaining in the game to put the Cats up by one to win 84-83. Once again, Hall led the team in points with 28, followed by freshman Harald Frey and junior Zach Green who both scored 16 points.

The Bobcats have two more games at home against Rocky Mountain College on Nov. 16 and James Madison University on Nov. 18 before travelling to Texas to play Rice University on Nov. 21. Both home games start at 7 p.m.
