The dynamic duo of Christian Soratos and Heather Demorest put it all on the line for the Cats one last time as the seniors competed at nationals in late June. Soratos, after an impressive 2014-2015 campaign that gained MSU national attention, competed in the 1500 meter. Heading into his race, Soratos was ranked third in the nation, but was caught in the middle of the pack and placed seventh, with a time of 3:55.60. His time earned him All-American honors to add to his list of accomplishments. The race was exceptionally close, with the winner, Chad Noelle from Oklahoma State University, finishing at 3:54.96.
Demorest competed in the 3000 meter steeplechase. After being ranked 21st before the event, Demorest raced to an 11th place finish and a new school record to go along with it. She finished the grueling event in a time of 10:01.68, good enough to earn her second-team All-American honors.
