Golf takes sixth at Big Sky Championships

Sophomore Janelle Reali earned Second Team All-Big Sky Conference honors after placing 11th at the Big Sky Conference Golf Championships, held April 19-21 in Chandler, Arizona.

After the first day of competition, the Cats were in eighth place overall with Reali and junior Kati Greear both shooting 76’s to put them in 17th place. Junior Haylee Folkvord shot 77 which placed her in a tie for 23rd, and freshman teammates Jaylee Tait and Pari Keller shot an 81 and 86, respectively to close out MSU’s scoring.

The second day, the entire team tied or improved their scores from the previous day to move MSU up one spot in the rankings. Folkvord, Reali and Tait all scored a 76, with Greear and Keller not far behind, shooting a 78 and 77, respectively.

On Tuesday, Tait lead the way for the Cats, shooting a 69 in the third and final round, placing her in a tie for 11th with Reali. Greear placed 16th after scoring a 74, while Keller and Folkvord shot an 82 and 84, respectively.

The team placed sixth after shooting a combined 914 over the three day tournament.
