Senior Day proved successful for women’s tennis as they nabbed a 6-1 victory over North Dakota on April 20. The win was their fourth straight and placed them as the No. 5 seed for the conference tournament.
Freshman Laura Middel not only got a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, but also combined with senior Ellie Crum in doubles for an 8-3 win — their 12th straight — which gives them a 13-2 overall record and a conference record of 9-1.
In other action, the No. 1 doubles team of senior Paulina Lopez and freshman Jessica Brycki posted an 8-6 victory while the No. 3 team of senior Wena Tsan and freshman Molly Crum won by default.
The Bobcats finished strong in the singles matches as well, with Lopez falling in the lone MSU loss of the day, a 6-4, 6-0 loss to Callie Ronkowski of UND.
The Big Sky Conference tournament is up next for the Bobcats, which begins on April 25 in Sacramento, Calif.
