Sophomore Jasmine Hommes had a career-high 24 points, but it was still not enough for the Bobcats (8-11, 6-4) to beat the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah on Jan. 30. The Cats had a 16 point lead in the first half, and went into the break on top, 46-38.
The Cats led the entire second half, until 3:28 when Southern Utah’s Hailey Mandelko hit a jumper to put the T-Birds on top, 75-74. She also hit two three-pointers in the final three minutes to help Southern Utah win the game. She finished with 22 points.
Bobcat junior forward Jackie Elliott had her fourth double-double of the season, with 17 points and a team-high 10 boards. Junior guard Ausha Cole and sophomore forward Kayla DeWit each added 10 points.
The final score was 87-81, with Southern Utah (12-7, 6-4) taking this matchup.
