The Bobcat women split games this past week against conference rivals Weber State and Idaho State. The No. 2 Cats (11-6, 6-2) got off to a good start on Thursday, with a win over the Weber State Wildcats (4-13, 0-8). Senior forward Ashley Brumwell led all MSU scorers with 19 points, junior guard Kalli Durham added 15 and sophomore guard Lindsay Stockton had 14 off the bench. The Cats won 87-71.
On Saturday, the Bobcats took the court again in a packed Shroyer Gym to take on the Idaho State Bengals (6-11, 4-4). Durham scored 13 points and Brumwell added 12. The Bengals took the advantage in rebounds, and had a strong first-half from the 3-point line. The Bobcats shot 38 percent from the field and had 16 points off the bench. The Bengals snapped the Bobcats’ six game win streak with a 74-63 victory.
The Bobcats are back in action tonight, Jan. 30, in Worthington Arena at 7 p.m. against Southern Utah.
