Position: Forward Hometown: Billings, Mont. Major: Mechanical Engineering Year in School: Sophomore
What is the best part of playing forward?
I have the opportunity to play the guard spot on the perimeter but also to go into the paint and
post up. The wing position gives me the opportunity to shoot and rebound.
When and why did you start playing?
My parents signed me up for a kindergarten team at the YMCA. I loved it and have been playing ever since.
What is your favorite thing about basketball and why?
I really love being part of a team. I believe you can accomplish so much more when you work together toward a common goal.
Why did you come to MSU?
My two biggest goals coming out of high school were to continue playing basketball at the highest level and to pursue a degree in engineering. Montana State gave me the best opportunity to reach these goals.
What do you do to prepare before a game?
We have shoot-around, pre-game meal, and then review scouting reports, concentrating on what we want to accomplish individually and as a team.
What do you think is the key to your success as a student-athlete?
To do well you must stay balanced with school work, basketball commitments and your relationships with family and friends.
Have you received any awards while playing basketball?
Most improved women’s basketball player for the 2011-2012 season, Women’s Basketball Community Service Award for the 2011-2012 season and Montana Campus Compact Athletes in Service Award 2012-2013.
Is there a person or quote that inspires you?
“Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible.” — Claude Bissell
What do you like to do in your free time?
I try to rest so I can stay healthy and strong. In the offseason, I love to be outdoors staying active with friends and family. I hike, swim, float the rivers and yes, play basketball. I also like to give back to the communities that have supported me over the years so I volunteer my time.
What would you like to tell students/readers about MSU basketball?
Come out and support the women’s basketball team. We play great basketball and we are fun to watch. Go Cats!
