Lady Cats split games on road

The Montana State Women’s Basketball team took on both Weber State and Idaho State last week, and ended with one win and one loss, yet remained on top of the Big Sky Conference rankings tied with rival Montana.

The Cats (14-5, 8-2) traveled to Ogden, Utah to take on the Weber State Wildcats on Jan. 24. Junior forward Ashley Brumwell led the way for the Bobcats with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and MSU got the 30-point victory. Sophomore guard Kalli Durham and senior forward Rachel Semansky added nine points each, as the Cats won, 67-37.

On Jan. 29, the Bobcats took on the Idaho State Bengals in Pocatello. The Cats shot 29 percent from the field, and they could never recover as the Bengals got the 63-55 win. Durham scored 20 points on seven of 15 shooting. Semansky also added eight points and five boards.

The women have a homestand starting tonight with Eastern Washington at 7 p.m. and will take on Portland State on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
