Lady Cats dominate in road games

The MSU women’s basketball team continued their winning ways this week — this time on the road.

The women traveled to Cedar City, Utah to take on the Southern Utah Thunderbirds on Jan. 17. Bobcat senior guard Latisha Adams led the way for the team, scoring a team-high of 16 points, including a couple clutch free throws down the stretch. Senior center Rachel Semansky added her 21st career double-double, with 15 points and 12 boards, as the Cats won 65-59.

With this win, the Bobcats took first place in the Big Sky Conference.

Later in the week, MSU (13-4, 7-1) traveled to Missoula to take on in-state rival Montana on Jan. 19. Montana State was down early, with a seven-point deficit in the first half, but was able to fight back and lead 30-25 going into halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Griz were able to pull within three after scoring 11 unanswered points. However, Adams’ 13 points and sophomore guard Kalli Durham’s 12 points were enough to put the Cats on top, with the final score being 58-49. Semansky added eight points and nine rebounds in 32 minutes.

The Bobcats will continue their road trip this week. They take on Weber State in Ogden, Utah tonight, Jan. 24. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
