Every summer, downtown Bozeman is host to many events bringing in thousands of people. One of the events that should be on everyone’s radar this summer is the 3-on-3 Shootout Aug. 11 and 12. The shootout is predicted to include over 300 teams. There will be 40 different brackets with the matches held on 20 courts laid out on Main Street.
The tournament is designed for players of all ages and abilities. Brackets are put together on the basis of age, skill level and height. The event offers brackets for those competitors who want to participate simply for the fun as well as those who want a true competitive tournament. The fun brackets include a family division, business division, costume division and the Cat/Griz division.
The proceeds of the tournament go to the local nonprofit organization, Pro-Fitness of Montana. Pro-Fitness is an organization dedicated to supporting and serving the community by providing sporting opportunities for all ages.
The registration is a $125 tax deductible fee for teams with participants past the 12th grade. For teams 12th grade or younger, the fee is $90. Volunteers are still needed before, during and after the tournament. Training will be provided for people interested in being court monitors.
Each team entered in the tournament is guaranteed at least four games over the two days. Prizes are given out to the winning team in each bracket. For more information about the event or to register go to www.profitnessmontana.com and click on the link for the Bozeman 3-on-3 Shootout.
