From Nov. 4-18, MSU will be competing against the University of Montana in an event called “Can the Griz” for the 18th consecutive year. Students and community members are asked to donate non-perishable foods, aiming to contribute more than the Griz towards our local Gallatin Valley Food Bank. All around campus, there are places for students to out-can the Grizzlies, and drop-off locations can be found at canthegriz.com. The community may also bring their cans and non-perishables to any of the Bobcat football games to donate.
Students can also donate money to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, with each dollar accounting for one pound of food. The Office of Student Engagement challenges the MSU community to take the lead once again after donating 234,486 pounds and raising over $92,000 last November, breaking a community record. Missoula wasn’t far behind, also breaking their own record with 177,876 pounds of food and $139,000 in donations.
The Renne Library will also be offering a reduction of fines for every two cans brought in. Help keep your Bozeman community fed this winter.
