ASMSU primary election

The results of the ASMSU Primary Elections were announced the evening of March 30. The votes decided which of the three teams running for ASMSU president and vice president would continue to the general election.

Running for president and vice president respectively, the team of Kylar Clifton and Micah McFeely advanced with 721 votes, as did Derek Hetherington and John Walker with 500 votes. There were 1,633 total votes cast, representing 10.7 percent of the student body.

Brady Bollum and Amber Roberts received 405 votes, and were eliminated from the election. The pair had previously been prohibited from participating in the primary debate, and from campaigning for 48 hours, after ASMSU’s Judicial Council concluded that they had violated ASMSU Bylaws and Elections policy.

The General Debate will take place on Tuesday, April 11 at noon in the SUB Union Market. Students can vote in the general election for the ASMSU executive team and student senators on April 11 – April 12, from  8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
