$4 million endowment created at MSU

The Haynes Foundation, a charitable foundation located in Helena, has partnered with the Montana State University Alumni Foundation to establish a $4 million endowment. The endowment will provide scholarships to students who have graduated from a Montana high school. The announcement came on Oct. 20.

Established in 1958, by Jack and Isabel Haynes, the Haynes Foundation has been promoting higher education in the state of Montana for over 55 years. The Haynes owned and ran a picture shop in Yellowstone National Park, which the Haynes Family had managed since 1884, selling photographs, post cards, guidebooks and souvenirs for Yellowstone National Park.

On Sept. 26, the Haynes Foundation created a $4 million endowment at the University of Montana, and at the beginning of October, the foundation also created a $1.6 million endowment for Rocky Mountain College in Billings. In addition, the Haynes Foundation supports Carroll College, Montana Tech, University of Great Falls and Western Montana College.
