Leadership Institute to host speaker Rob O’Neill

Former Navy SEAL Rob O’Neill will speak in the SUB Ballrooms at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 11 at an event hosted by the MSU Leadership Institute. The speech is called “Never Quit: The Story of a Life Built on Successful Missions.”

“It’s basically exactly as it sounds,” said Daniel Yoon, a student associate at the Leadership Institute. “The idea behind O’Neill’s speech is even though he had to go through gruelling training, it wasn’t a matter of ever thinking of when to give up but thinking ‘okay I’m here, now I have to make it up to this point,’ so always taking everything step by step, relying on your team, building your leadership qualities and persevering through even the hardest times.”

Rob O’Neill is a Butte native. This gave MSU a connection, according to Yoon. “We really solidified him when we got the veteran’s department here to be our number one sponsor for him,” he added.

There are 400 remaining tickets, which can be purchased at the Ask Us desk or the Bobcat ticket office until 4 p.m. the day of the event. Available tickets after this time can be purchased at the door. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for general admission.
