This week the Montana Board of Regents plans to vote on a proposal to rename the Engineering and Physical Science Building to Barnard Hall. Tim Barnard, the founder of Barnard Construction Companies, Inc., has donated more than $100,000 to MSU has recently pledged $6 million to the College of Engineering. This promise sparked Brett Gunnink, the Dean of the College of Engineering, to propose the name change.
The name change has been approved by the Commemorative Tributes Committee and by President Waded Cruzado. However, it still needs final approval from the Board of Regents. The Administrative, Budget and Audit Oversight Committee will discuss the matter March 3 at 1:30 p.m.
