The Montana State women’s golf team placed sixth out of eleven at the Big Sky Conference Championships this past weekend. The Cats were led by sophomore Kati Greear and freshman Janelle Reali, who took fourth and tied for sixth respectively. Of the 55 individual competitors, MSU had three of their five golfers finish in the top half of the conference. Last year’s champion, MSU senior Paige Crawford, ended her campaign with a 22nd place finish.
“I enjoyed every moment of it,” senior Pamela Calderon commented. “We improved continuously throughout the season and at conference we gave it our all.”
Portland State captured the team title, shooting just 31 over par across the three-day tournament. The MSU women were sitting in third (+68) heading into the final day of competition but couldn’t hold on through the end, finishing just a stroke behind Northern Arizona (+67). The championship meet caps off a season that started last September and gave the Cats their best finish in three years.
