Police Reports: Winter Waggery

On Dec. 2 at 6:56 p.m, a caller reported two individuals involved in a verbal altercation at a residence in the Julia Martin Drive complex. Officers arrived, determined the altercation to be non-physical and the two individuals were separated.

Shortly before midnight on Dec. 3, a caller reported an individual who intentionally left a sink on in Reid Hall.

At around 1 p.m. on Dec. 4, an individual reported their iPad and passport stolen from their backpack in Renne Library. The passport and iPad were shortly recovered and the case was closed.

On Dec. 4 at 11 p.m., an person reported their unlocked bike stolen from a hallway in Johnstone Center. No word on whether the bike rolled away or was stolen.

Just after 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 in Miller Dining Hall, an individual reported their backpack stolen. An officer responded and found the individual who accidentally picked up the wrong backpack. The backpack was then returned to its rightful owner.

A suspicious incident was report at 10:40 p.m. on Dec 6 at a Grant Chamberlin apartment. It was reported an individual was knocking on an apartment door while covering the peep hole. Officers responded and found the suspicious knocker to be a friend of the resident.

A criminal mischief/vandalism incident was reported on Dec. 7 at 1 a.m. in South Hedges Hall. An officer responded and it was determined that an individual’s phone had slipped from their hand and had shattered a window. It is unknown what brand of phone was tough enough to destroy a window. No citations or warnings were given.

On Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. a suspicious incident was reported at the 1300 block of S. 5th Ave. The caller had received a letter and was concerned about its contents. An officer responded finding the letter to contain nothing threatening.

At 2:44 p.m. on Dec. 12, a caller reported a suspicious individual looking into different room in the Animal Science Building. When an officer responded, there was no one found in the area.

Just after 9 p.m. on Jan. 4, it was reported that a chair had been stabbed with a knife in the Headwaters Suites. What drove the individual to stab a chair is unknown.

A disorderly conduct incident was reported on Jan. 8 at 8:32 p.m. The caller reported individuals throwing snowballs at passing vehicles in the Family/Graduate Housing area.

On Jan. 13 at 9 a.m., an individual reported a sharpie flower drawing on a stairwell wall in North Hedges Hall.
