The Museum of the Rockies and Dr. Gary Strobel, a microbiologist at MSU, will present “Revealing the Rainforest” on Thursday, March 28.
The lecture, which will be held in the museum’s Hager Auditorium from 6 – 7 p.m., is free and open to the public. Strobel will share stories of scientific adventure in the rainforests of Bolivia and Peru.
His research and discovery of endophytes has revolutionized natural medicine’s potential in fighting diseases such as cancer and malaria. Forbes magazine titled Strobel the “Indiana Jones of fungus hunters” for his work.
No word on whether Strobel will bring his bullwhip, fedora and leather jacket to the lecture.
