Library encourages cans for fines

As a part of the official “Can the Griz” Food Drive, the Renne Library is forgiving students’ fines through donations of canned food. Students can pay up to $10 in fines, with one can equalling $2.

The event, which lasts until Nov. 17, helps with the food drive and gives students an alternative for paying off their library fines. If students’ past library fines have been transferred to Montana Hall, students can still choose to pay them off with cans rather than money. A library staff member will record students’ names, ID numbers and number of cans donated, and the updated or paid fine will be communicated to Montana Hall.
