Woman assaulted 2.5 miles off campus

On Oct. 26 at about 8:25 p.m., a 25-year-old woman reported that, while walking on Hunter’s Way, a car pulled up next to her, a man got out, walked toward her and grabbed her. A short struggle ensued and, according to Police Lt. Steve Crawford, the woman struck the man with a flashlight and was able run from him.

According to the Bozeman Police Department, the man got into a red two-door sedan and drove away. After arriving at her residence, the uninjured woman called 911. She described the man as white, six-foot-two inches tall and stocky, with buzzcut-style hair and a short beard, and said he was wearing a white t-shirt and blue cut-off jean shorts.

The Bozeman Police Department is actively investigating the incident and encourages the public to call 406-582-2000 or Crimestoppers at 406-586-1131 with any information that would assist detectives.
