Fro-yo to blame for weight gain

Recent research links 98 percent of MSU freshman weight gain over fall semester 2012 to the new frozen yogurt shop Culture, located across the street from Langford, Johnstone and Hapner Halls. Researchers cite late hours and a by-the-ounce pricing system as evidence that “fro-yo” stores are designed to attract and addict 18-year-old college students for life. One afflicted student, who did not wish to be named, explained, “I started with a small serving size, but Culture has so many possible combinations of flavors and toppings and it’s the only food place within walking distance open after 9 p.m. — there’s no way I could stop.”
