Show School Spirit With Style

It’s that time of year again — summer is ending and school is beginning. We have a lot to look forward to, especially showing our Bobcat spirit at football games. Whether you’re new to MSU or it’s your last year, I’m here to tell you how you can show your spirit just by making a trip to the MSU bookstore.

I’m sure most of you have already been to the bookstore, but probably for textbooks and school supplies. For those of you who haven’t been able to look around, they have quite a large selection of Bobcat gear. You might be surprised to know that it’s not that cheesy Bobcat gear you can find at our local Walmart, but they actually have cool stuff.  For girls, they have lots of t-shirts, pants, workout gear, and jackets. This year, they’ve put out some neon, three-quarter sleeved tees which would be perfect for fall weather. For guys, they have plenty of tees, pants, jackets, basketball shorts, and more.

If you can’t afford anything from the bookstore right now, I’d suggest making your own Bobcat gear. I have always made my own shirts for the special games, like homecoming and Cat/Griz.  You can pick up a plain colored tee just about anywhere in town (such as Michael’s, Target, or Walmart) for just a few bucks. Then all you need are some artsy supplies, such as fabric paints, iron-on letters, or beads. I’ve made shirts for under ten dollars, and they’ve always turned out well. For all you girls, this might be a fun little project for the next big game!  Some of you guys might even want to make your own stuff, and I say go for it.  If you’re too lazy or think you’re not creative enough to make a shirt (I promise it’s really not hard), then head to the bookstore and check out their selection.

Whether you decide to buy your Bobcat gear from the MSU Bookstore or make your own, remember the bookstore offers more than textbooks.
